With around 1,000 miles of powdery white sandy shoreline, you are never far away from a world-class beach in the Dominican Republic.

We have beaches near jungles, beaches near cities, deserted beaches, beaches with amenities, and much more.

From white sand to golden pebbles, secluded quiet spots, to gorgeous beaches perfect for snorkeling, diving, boat trips and more, there is plenty of choice, and something to suite everyone.

Here we have created a short guide to some of our favorite spots in the area.

Playa Sosua

This long stretch of beach is best known for its coral reefs, dive sites, and calm waters. The water is perfect to swim in, although beach shoes are recommended, bring your snorkeling mask to explore the sealife, and enjoy the stunning view of the mountains in the background.

Playa Dorada

This is one of the original Tourist beaches, with a 3 kilometer stretch of sand that curves around a bay, this is one of the most popular beaches in the area. You can enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing, and parasailing, or just kick back at one of the tiki bars.

Cabarete Beach

Cabarete is famous as the adventure sports capital of the country, and the beach is no exception, famous for windsurfing, kiteboarding, and laser sailing, everyone is invited to learn and practice the sports all year round. This bustling beach also offers plenty of restaurants and bars along the beach for a bite to eat and sunbeds to relax and take in the atmosphere and top up your tan.

Playa Alicia

Located at the end of Calle Dr. Rosen, this beach is less frequented than other beaches, and has been well maintained since it was created. It has a large sandy area with warm waters, and nice waves.

Paradise Beach

This is one of the most beautiful and more secluded beaches in Sosua, situated on mostly private land this stretch of beach is a little more difficult for the public to reach, but is worth the walk to enjoy a relaxing day on this unique piece of Caribbean paradise.
